Dedicated to My Father

Our story begins in 1988, with a simple belief shared by many families here: at some point in life, a man should build a house.

But my father imagined something different.

Instead of building in the city where he lived, he followed his heart toward the sea.

He believed a home should offer more than walls and a roof—it should offer peace, beauty, and a place where family memories could grow. Encouraged by his niece, a fearless young teenage enthusiast who does not allow him to overthink, wait and waste such a brilliant idea – the search began.

It didn’t take long to find the place.

Njivice revealed itself quietly, just as it still does today.

A small seaside village, tucked away from crowds, yet close to the rich history and life of Herceg Novi. A breathtaking panoramic view over the bay. The gentle rhythm of the sea. And right next to the most beautiful beach at the most beautiful bay of the Adriatic Sea.

People often exaggerate when talking about some place and using multiple superlatives. But it is usually the place of their ancestors; or some well-known regional and economic center which everyone adores; or a place where their professional career brings them; or the love of their life, or some unexpected family inheritance, or just where their good friend had already built a house so why shouldn’t they…

Instead, my father simply chose the place that he felt it was truly the most beautiful for him.

This was not a choice made out of habit, inheritance, or convenience. It was a choice made purely from the heart. It was guided by intuition—a simple, honest feeling that this was the most beautiful place to return to, year after year.

And even as the history of Yugoslavia turned upside down and the region faced uncertain times and dramatic changes, my father held onto his dream—and brought it to life.

What stands here today is more than a house. It is the result of courage, intuition, and the belief that the most beautiful places are worth choosing.

Today, whatever we do, build or improve – it is all based on his courage to dream, to dare, to achieve.

Everything we continue to build and improve at Villa Boka Sunrise is rooted in that same spirit: to dream bravely, to choose with the heart, and to welcome others into a place made with love.
